The Rain

All night the sound had
come back again,
and again falls
this quite, persistent rain.
What am I to myself
that must be remembered,
insisted upon
so often? Is it
that never the ease,
even the hardness,
of rain falling
will have for me
something other than this,
something not so insistent--
am I to be locked in this
final uneasiness.
Love, if you love me,
lie next to me.
Be for me, like rain,
the getting out
of the tiredness, the fatuousness, the semi-
lust of intentional indifference.
Be wet
with a decent happiness.
밤새 이 소리 다시
되돌아와서
또 다시 내린다.
고요하고 끈질긴 이 비.
이처럼 번번이
상기되고
강요받아야 하는
난 스스로 어떤 존재인가?
그건 거침없이
아주 세차게
내리는 비 탓은
전혀 아닌,
이것 아닌 어떤 것,
이처럼 끈질긴 것이 아닌 무엇,
이 궁극적인 불안 속에
내가 갇히게 되는 건.
님이여, 날 사랑한다면
내 곁에 누워다오.
날 위해 있어다오, 비처럼,
지침과 공허와 고의적인 무관심이란
어설픈 반욕망에서
벗어나게 해 주는 일,
은은한 행복으로
촉촉이 젖어다오.
