G : Bonjour. have you a table for two, please?
W : Certainly. Where would you like to sit? By the window or further back?
G : I think we'd prefer by the window so that we can watch the people in the street.
W : Right. Won't you sit down?
G : Thank you very much.
W : What would you like to order?
G : Do you think you could explain the menu to us? You see, our French isn't good
enough and we don't speak any Arabic at all.
W : Of course. We serve a fixed price three course lunch at 3 dinars 500 millimes
and you can make your choice for each course.
G : What's for starters?
W : There's brik a l'oeuf, that's tuna fish an egg deep-fried in a pastry case, mechouia, a salad made with grilled tomatoes and peppers, or vegetable soup.
Which would you prefer?
G : I think I'll have the soup
G : I'd rather have the brik a l'eouf, It sounds very good.
W : Right, And for the main course, there's couscous, chicken, or steak.
G : Well, couscous is a bit spicy for me. I think I'll have the steak.
G : Steak for me too, please.
W : How would you like them cooked?
G : I don't like my steaks too underdone. Make mine well done.
G : Rare for me, please.
W : Fine. What would you like to go with your steak?
G : I'll have chips. And peas, if you have them.
W : Yes, that's fine, And what would you like to drink? Bottled beer? Wine?
G : We like wine better.
W : We have a very pleasant house wine served by the carafe.
G : Yes. I think a carafe of red would do nicely.
G : It isn't too dry, is it?
W : No, no. It's a medium wine.
G : Good. We'll have that then. And also a bottle of mineral water, please.
